Fire doors with fire gas density

Inhalation of fire gases is the most common cause of death in fires. Therefore, it is of course very important that a fire door is able to hold tightly against these gases in the event of a fire. The rules in BBR are based on the fire gas density classes Sa and Sm according to SS-EN 13501-2. Where the steel door is to be mounted is crucial for which class to use. Sa and Sm are measures of how dense the door is in different temperature and pressure conditions.

The fire gas density S is the door's ability to reduce fire gas and smoke leakage from one side of the door to the other. Sa regulates cold flue gases, Sm hot fire gases (200o)
